Welcome to ToutVirtual BLOG!

This BLOG will serve as a resource for all types of virtualization users - from newbies to advanced users of virtualization - as each stage of virtualization carries its own unique challenges. Through this BLOG, we hope to provide perspectives that span across different virtualization platforms; discovering synergies and communal “pain points” (and their solutions!) along the way.

Our vision for this BLOG is to: raise awareness of virtualization planning and deployment; provide a forum for expressing views and opinions on making virtualization work better; and facilitate a dialogue where a community of virtualization users can help one another navigate the world of virtualization based on their real life experiences.

At the helm of the ToutVirtual BLOG is a seasoned user of virtualization, who has kindly agreed to share his perspective on virtualization through this BLOG. This noble fellow has done everything from pulling and terminating data network cabling (with burnt fingers and a soldering iron!), to designing software applications that have saved his clients millions. He has built mainframe HLLAPI automation applications, lent his Midas touch to a whole gambit of operating systems (Windows, Linux, Solaris etc.), implemented and managed a wide variety of multi-tier application topologies and managed entire command-center operations.

This virtualization virtuoso has been on the cutting-edge of virtualization right from the get-go, and can remember the days of VMware’s ESX 1.5.x and Connectix Server (now known as Microsoft Virtual Server). He has real world experience on both sides of the coin: Managing the Demand Side of virtualization and Managing the Supply Side of virtualization.

He makes a definite impression on everyone that he meets and works with, we leave it to you to decide to develop your own view, but there is no doubt he has a vision, for virtualization, and for us, with a seat on the ToutVirtual Customer Council.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the ToutVirtual BLOG and honored to introduce Schorschi Decker as Editor-at-Large of the BLOG. In his series “A Proper Virtual World”, Schorschi will give you an insider’s view into the world of virtualization. We hope that you will take full advantage of this BLOG (and Schorschi’s unique expertise) to participate, populate, and propagate your own experiences in virtualization.
